Van Hunt is a Grammy awarded musician, producer, songwriter, and recording artist originally from Dayton, OH but now living in Los Angeles. His writing and production has been featured on recordings by diverse artists, such as Dionne Farris, Rahsaan Patterson, and Cree Summer as well as the platinum-selling soundtrack, Love Jones. He has released 5 of his own records over the past 15 years, also touring alongside such diverse acts as Kanye West, The Roots, Coldplay, Mary J. Blige, and Dave Matthews Band.

Van has released five albums of his own over the past 15 years, and draws his inspirations from a wide variety of musical influences. His last record The Fun Rises, The Fun Sets, draws inspiration from The Delfonics, Parliament-Funkadelic, Pink Floyd, and Billie Holiday, and was praised by The Boston Globe for bringing together a fusion of original funk and old soul.
